First time eating here. I was actually quite impressed. Arrived around 5:30, so it was already getting dark. The place literally looked like a hole in the wall from the outside. We were immediately greeted upon entering and seated. Server came right away and took our drink orders. Ordered some hush puppies for an appetizer, which I didn't realize came with a meal when you ordered it. My mom and I ordered the large shrimp platter, which was 1# of shrimp. It was DELICIOUS and tasty with lots of flavor! I would highly recommend it! We also ordered the chocolate chip cookie sundae for dessert. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The cookie was rather dry even with the ice cream on top of it. The strawberry cake was just okay, nothing really to brag about. The service was good and she kept our ice tea filled up for the most part. She had a bubbly personality as well. I would recommend this place. Don't always judge a place by the way the outside looks! We happen to be there on a night Santa and Mrs. Claus was visiting.

Very friendly and and great service! We tried lots of different items- fried zucchini, crab cakes, catfish, flounder, chicken strips and gumbo. Everything was great and we really enjoyed it.

My husband and I have been to the Fish Market several times in the last few months. I always get the frog legs. They are the absolute BEST in the KC area! The jalapeño chez cornbread is delish as well as the red beans and rice. My husband goes for the catfish nuggets which are another favorite. This place has been around forever... just a little hole in the wall, but the food is so good and the setting is very relaxed. Love it!!!

Stopped in for an early dinner and got a spot at the very small bar...5 seats but WELL worth it! Bartender was awesome. Started with an appetizer of spicy gizzards ....not crunchy but perfectly seasoned and tender. Beer is served in an ice cold mug and we split a jumbo shrimp and catfish basket!!! Catfish nuggets were very fresh and tasty! Would DEFINITELY recommend this hidden gem

I got to try this amazing local spot courtesy of my Dad. He took us here and it was amazing! There appeared to be a lot of repeat customers and new customers - definitely a place where everyone wants to go. We had a shared order of fried okra and I got the fried shrimp tacos. Everything was seasoned perfectly and I absolutely loved it. The restaurant had a very local southern feel and was decorated with nautical themes. I didn't expect anything less from a place called The Fish Market. The service was great and friendly. I can't wait to go back and try more on the menu.
